Making a Visible Difference in Loudoun County

Political Awareness and Involvement

The Founders participation in the Suffrage March for Women to Vote in March 1913 signaled the first act of political awareness and involvement. Public policy awareness in African-American communities continues to guide activities of the Social Action Commission. The Sorority's "need to know" and accountability of elected officials has been the basis for public service progras in this area of political awareness and involvement.

LCAC works with the League of Women Voters of Loudoun County to register over 1,600 high school 18 year olds in the county. Similarily, LCAC has conducted voter registration and voter restoration drives in Loudoun County.

We continue to co-sponsor a politicial Meet and Greet to give residents an opportunity to meet local candidates and elected officials.

Members regularly support Delta Days at the Nation's Capitol and General Assembly.
