We take pride in working with community partners and beyond to bring relevant programs and projects to the community. Each initiative is researched and designed to meet the needs of  our focus areas within Loudoun County.

CIVIC AND SOCIAL ACTION

Each of Delta’s programmatic initiatives has an advocacy component that is implemented under the auspices of the National Social Action Commission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Loudoun County Alumnae Chapter  Social Action committee working together with our partner organizations NAACP Loudoun and Minority Student Achievement Advisory Committed (MSAAC) conduct programs that facilitate Political Awareness and Advocacy as it pertains to Equity in Education: Voter registration and  Education and Criminal Justice Reform.

FINANCIAL FORTITUDE

Financial Fortitude is part of our Economic Development thrust. Our projects have ranged from helping teens set and define financial goals information sessions for Loudoun residents on entrepreneurship and how to put a successful financial plan into action as well as an identity theft prevention and awareness seminar for seniors.

 

Events are hosted throughout the year and will be listed on our calendar.

EXPANDED OUTREACH

As residents of Loudoun County, LCAC understands the importance of partnering with community organizations.  This includes projects with Guilford and Leesburg Elementary Schools, Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter, AARP, Howard University and area churches,  These partnerships have improved the quality of our programs, increased or resources, helped us to better align our goals and strengthen our members.  We will continue to seek the services of organizations to further expand our reach in the community.

We strive to engage youth in conversations on soft skills, community service, and most importantly education and academic excellence.

Delta Gems

Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Program

Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully is for adolescent girls aged 14 - 18. Delta GEMS provides the framework to actualize one's dreams through the performance of specific tasks that develop a CAN DO attitude.  The program offers a road map for college and career planning through activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and individual growth.

Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy

Delta Academy is for females, ages 11 - 14, offers monthly programs from November through May.  Activities have varied used on the needs of early adolescents and have included computer training, self-esteem workshops, career counseling sessions, field trips for cultural events and college exposure, dinners and concerts.  All are geared to prepare young girls for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century.

Embodi DST

EMBODI Program

Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence program is for young males, aged 14 - 18, to help them reach their full potential educationally, socially and emotionally.  Programs have been implemented using a variety of formats, from one-day sessions with guest speakers and interactive activities, to a visit to Howard University for tours, student discussions and sessions to prepare for college readiness.

As an organization of predominantly African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being of its membership, but also the families and communities we serve. Focusing on a healthy lifestyle - mind, body, and spirit. 

 

Committing our bodies to Physical and Mental Health for families and communities at large, LCAC hosted a mall walk and self-defense class.

LCAC SCHOLARSHIPS

We are just part of a larger, private non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in our community and throughout the world.

LCAC will award scholarships to selected African-American students who demonstrate a high degree of scholarship, leadership, and community service.
