Delta Academy

Delta Academy provides an opportunity for educational programming for young women between the ages of 11 and 14. The program offers monthly educational modules focused on such areas as mentoring, educational activities, physical well being, and service learning opportunities. The Delta Academy Program’s major emphasis is social and emotional development, physiological transitioning and exposure to global ideas and learning opportunities.

More than 12 members of LCAC's Delta Academy explored the digital space during the December coding session led by security IT specialist Brandon Coats during their December meeting.

Using laptop computers supplied by Loudoun County Public Schools, the girls in the December module learned codes to design their own app, solve problems and develop game designs.

The two-hour session helped to increase the girls interest and comfort with technology in the December module.
